Cuicatl Tepeyac
In a small church somewhere in Mexico, the virgin of Guadalupe is just hanging there doing nothing. Until the music of some indigenous people comes inside.
In Cuicatl Tepeyac I bring up the topic of the Icon of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which was imposed on the indigenous people of Mexico by the conquistadores. These, supposing this symbol was just an exotic version of their own deity Pacha Mama, accepted the Virgin without much resistance. Through analogue animation techniques, the film shows the duality of this iconic figure.
